A total Lunar eclipse will be occurring tonight and is also visible in Pakistan.
The eclipse will be visible all over Asia (except the Far-Eastern bloc), Europe, Africa, South America and Eastern parts of North America.

Praying During Eclipse
It is a sunnah to pray nafil when there is a solar or lunar eclipse
Bukhari :: Book 2 :: Volume 18 :: Hadith 170
Narrated Abu Bakra:
In the life-time of the Allah’s Apostle (p.b.u.h) the sun eclipsed and he went out dragging his clothes till he reached the Mosque. The people gathered around him and he led them and offered two Rakat. When the sun (eclipse) cleared, he said, “The sun and the moon are two signs amongst the signs of Allah; they do not eclipse because of the death of someone, and so when an eclipse occurs, pray and invoke Allah till the eclipse is over.” It happened that a son of the Prophet called Ibrahim died on that day and the people were talking about that (saying that the eclipse was caused by his death).

There would be a partial solar eclipse at the sunrise of March 19 as well. I shall try to photograph the lunar eclipse tonight, but my SK’EYE-III has become quite rusty and dusty over the years, being practically untouched for nearly a year. It needs some serious maintenance.
“Early to bed, Early to rise, makes a girl, healthy wealthy and otherwise”.
u posted this one @ 7:26am, thats probably before anyone here read today’s paper… how then did you come to know about it? hmmm, let me guess…
btw, thanks for sharing the reference of sunnah.

will it not be a partial eclipse in Pakistan?
Thanks for quoting hadith regarding lunar and solar eclipses. Jazakallah
#4: Unlike solar eclipse, if a lunar eclipse is total, it will be seen in toto from all parts of the world wherever it is visible. However Solar eclipse, if seen in totality in one part of the world (under direct shadow or Umbra) would be partial in other parts of the world (under lighter shadow or Penumbra), and not at all in parts outside the shadow.
#3: You can calculate precisely all the eclipses for the next thousands of years, down to the accuracy of fractions of a second.
I posted the fresh and good quality pictures of the eclipse to Dawn paper, just 10 minutes after I took them from my telescope. However Dawn people preferred to publish their own low quality pictures in today’s paper. I am soon going to publish them on my website after selection.
As per my observation, the snaps that DAWN published seemed to be taken before, not this year. Or might be they’ve printed them in GrayScale. I witnessed the whole even but it was different from what has been published in our esteemed newspaper.
Who would second my opinion here?

thats “salt”/”namak”. let me relate a shair to the pic u’re referring 2:
~
“Ansuon ko aankhon ki dahleez pe laya na karo
Apnay dil ki haalat kisi ko bataya na karo
Loag mutthee bhar ‘namak’ liye ghoom rahay hain
Apnay zakhm kisi ko dikhaya na karo ”

@HQ ,,wah wah…wah wah..good one
@javeria,, ok akhree daam, the only possible thing left is “makhan” as in “makhan lagana” ![]()
kion HQ, any shair on makhan ??
@ Aleem:
Makkhan/Butter is never that white, its supposed to have a golden touch to it…
@ Jav:
What? Don’t tell me its a bird’s dropping in that hand!!!! Yuck!
P.S.: I’m not afraid of lions but birds DO frighten me; the reason being simple, they can drop s*it on you and get away with it!
. No offense anyone.
