Life of Muhammad saw by Imam Anwar Al Awlaki is THE BEST seerah lecture in English. He has beautifully and most eloquently narrated the life of Muhammad saw. This series is in two parts, The Makkan Period in 16 cds and the Medinan Period in 18 cds.
Imam Anwar Awlaki starts from scratch explaining the meaning of the word seerah and then he goes onto explain the importance of studying seerah in 9 points. The best thing about this series is that he has narrated hadiths from Bukhari, Muslim etc…
As he narrates, he clears up many misconceptions about Muhammad saw in the minds of non muslims and many muslims as well. Like why he married young Aisha ra, why he married Zainub ra and why he fought the jews of Medina.
THis is definintely a MUST LISTEN to series BY ALL, whether muslim or non muslim.
I felt the need to have this series in written form as well, for easy reference and to find exactly what you are looking for the in lecture. So I have started to transcribe his lecture This is an extremely slow process but Inshallah i plan to complete all the cds. I have just finished transcribing the first cd of the Makkan period and wanted to share it with the world. I dont know if such work has already been done or not, but transcribing greatly helped me remember the details….

Javeria, I had the idea of transcribing cd 7, I think it will be great to give out as a book for dawah, I spoke with al-basheer sometime ago and received permission.

So you can go ahead with transcribing the cd 7. currently im working on Cd2 and brother Abdullah had volunteered to transcribe cd 3 & 4 but i havent heard from him so i dont know if he is still transcribing them or not.
One of my friend is in the process of transcribing the Medinan Period and she has alhamdulilah reached CD 5.
Any kind of help in transcribing or making corrections would be appreciated.

Did you know that there are other lectures by Anwar al-Awlaki on http://www.halaltube.com and maybe also on http://www.youtube.com? I just started taking some notes on these lectures yesterday. I too am wanting to take notes on all of his lectures Insha Allah. I can send you my notes as I finish each lecture Insha Allah. However, it might take me some time as I don’t have as much time to work on it as I would like. Also, if you need help with typing your notes, I type pretty fast ma shaa Allah.
Do you have some more transcripts of Awlaki’s lectures? If so, could you please share them with me?

Asalamu Alaykum everyone,
Due to my busy schedule, unfortunately i have not been able to transcribe any further cds.
Furthermore i have also not heard from the brothers who had promised to help with the transcription.
I have recently re-started transcription of Cd-2, but it will take time.As soon as it is done, I will upload it Inshallah.
If anyone is interested in this project, then please post here which Cd you would be doing so there is no duplication of the same work. Start work from Cd-3 of the Makkan period.

I am currently in the process of transcribing the lectures by Imam Anwar Al Awlaki on the lives of the Sahaba radi Allahu anhu. I was wondering if i needed to get permission from anyone to do this, for example from Imam Anwar Al Awlaki.
My Intentions are to get these published into small books InshaAllah and donate all money to charity InshaAllah.

Thanks to Sr. Umm Ibraheem’s hard work, and she is working on The Lifes of the Prophets, and finished Lut or Shaib, maashaa Allah. I ask Allah to reward her and her family.
I have just finished translating The Hereafter series into Chinese language. I would like to move on the Prophet’s Seerah, so I am looking for the transcript of it for the Makkan period. I was very happy to find CD1 of it. But could not find doc of any following CDs. I read through all responses, saw many offering help to do more cds, many asking for more docs.
Can anyone point out the location of the transcript for cd2, cd3, … of Seerah Makkan period? Thanks.

As-Salam’alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu Akhee/Ukhti Javeria,
Apparently I found some errors after quoting verse numbers 33 and 34 from Sura al-Ahzab. On searching it, I found that it doesn’t match with the following Ayah:
يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا
O Prophet (Muhammad)! Verily, We have sent you as witness, and a bearer of glad tidings, and a warner,
وَدَاعِيًا إِلَى اللَّهِ بِإِذْنِهِ وَسِرَاجًا مُّنِيرًا
And as one who invites to Allah [Islamic Monotheism, i.e. to worship none but Allah (Alone)] by His Leave, and as a lamp spreading light (through your instructions from the Quran and the Sunnah the legal ways of the Prophet).
The above two are quoted from Verses 45 & 46 from Surah al-Ahzab, Chapter 33.
Please correct it and inform Dhikrullah brothers about it.

MashALLAH excellent work, I really benefited from all of it, I have one question did you ever get to complete the transcripts of Anwar Awlaki’s seerah lectures. I started the seerah in my local halaqah for sisters and the first chapter really saved me a lot of time. May Allah SWT reward you for all your efforts.

If someone has lectures on English, please send me because it is rather long work of listening (some things I can not be sure that I heard correctly) then translate and write.
